The history and results of our association

Our cycling club is as old as the business and celebrates its 25th anniversary this year! After I stopped my professional career at Ferencvaros, I wanted to drive it, because going 25,000 km for years and then suddenly stopping is not advisable according to sports doctors. While doing my small laps before normal working hours, cyclists bumped into me. This is how the hardcore was formed, with whom we later went to domestic amateur competitions, and then we competed on the international stage, not just with any results.

When I was a competitor, I had my eyes open to international competitions, so I learned a lot from foreign coaches and competitors - whether we are talking about men or women.

We first had a team jersey in the early 2000s, so we could travel to the competitions in unison. Our team members have won amateur Hungarian championships in all age groups, and we were even able to stand on the elite Hungarian podium in triple team championships!

We have also participated several times in the 5-day tour of the Italian amateur Giro Friuli county. On one occasion we returned home with Zoltán Bacsek's victory. We also completed many Italian one-dayers, including amateur road world championships and European Championships with a good number of riders, where several of our competitors finished in the first third of the field. Moreover, we also got an age-group amateur individual time trial world championship jersey courtesy of Bálint Gosztonyi! In 2016, Felipe Gaston Miranda won the 10-round Akes Championship series. During this period, Orsolya Marton became the Hungarian women's champion 4 times in a row, also in the 10-round Hungarian championship race of Akesz!

The team also had a lot of training camps in Treviso and the Dolomites. In Hungary, we had joint training every week 2 times on weekdays and 2 times on weekends. This work was reflected in our results. We had a round trip to Vác on Saturday where 25 members of the red-yellow-white line snaked through, earning all the respect of the motorists.

Due to the strict recruitment, I cannot report on an accident where I was there as a coach with the team. The new ones can only go in the back for a while until they get used to the habits of the old members and the discipline here. As soon as they know it, we gradually let them into the queue. The most beautiful example of this for me was Dani Babcsán, who in her first training sessions raced like an unbroken colt, and today she is one of my club members who, if I put the wheel on, I dare to drive behind her even with my eyes closed. Learned. The other thing I try to teach everyone is to sit nicely on the bike, because the fastest canoeist is useless if he does not shovel water efficiently. It's the same on a bicycle, everyone should first learn the correct drive technology, fix it, and then push in the already correct posture.

Nowadays, even the professional field has surprises in store for me. We mostly live in the world of online training plans, where coaches see their students less often than our generation did. Back then, a coach would tell from his competitor's head or leg posture that today a peak would be born or that the student would soon fall off.

I still try to use the accumulated knowledge to develop our amateur athletes and clients. My goal is to pass on more than 40 years of knowledge to my colleagues, students and guests alike.
